What we keep, and what we don’t
We keep what an order needs, and the account you choose to open. We do not sell that list, and we do not pass it to anyone else’s marketing.
An order
Name, email, a phone number if you give one, the delivery address, and the pieces. A guest checkout stores the same details against the order, without opening an account. If you leave a note for Perseus Hairs, that note is kept with the order.
An account
Name, email, phone, a birthday if you add one, the currency you prefer, saved addresses, and the reviews you write. The password is stored only as a hash. From your profile you can ask for a copy: the profile, addresses, orders, and reviews are emailed to you as a file.
Payment
Cards, Klarna, and Amazon Pay are taken on Stripe’s own page. The card number does not pass through our server, and we never see it. We keep a record that the payment cleared, with the amount and the currency, so a refund can go back to the same method.
Letters from Perseus Hairs
Joining the list keeps that email so we can send it, including the welcome code for a first order on full-price hair. An unfinished cart can also produce one email to the address on the cart. Ignoring it does not open an account. A message from the contact form is kept so we can reply to it.
Measurement
When Perseus Hairs connects them, the shop sends a product view, an add to cart, and the start of checkout to Meta and to Google Analytics, with the piece and its price. A purchase is sent only after the payment has cleared, with the order number and the amount paid. The email on that order is hashed before it reaches Meta, so a completed purchase can be matched without handing over the address book. Google Ads receives that same completed purchase. These tools stay off until their ids are saved in Perseus Hairs. Google Merchant Center can also read a feed of what is for sale.
What the browser remembers
- Session. So a signed-in visit stays signed in.
- Cart. About 45 days, so a guest bag is still there when you come back.
- Wishlist. About 90 days, until you save it to an account.
- Currency. A year, so prices stay in the currency you chose.
- Recently viewed. 30 days, and only the pieces, so the account can show what you looked at.
- Measurement. Meta and Google may set their own cookies once those tools are connected, so a visit and a completed purchase are counted once.
