The band and the combs do the work. Adhesive is a backup, not the design. A glueless cap that needs a full lace melt to stay on was built for glue and renamed.
Put the wig on before you style it. Adjust the band at the nape until the cap sits without you holding it. The combs go into a cornrow or a flat section, not into loose hair that will slip. If you have a smaller head, the band still has room to come in. If it is already at its tightest and the cap rocks, a velvet grip band underneath is the honest fix.
When to skip the adhesive
A wedding, a flight, a week you would rather not melt and remove. The cap should survive those without a tube of glue in the bag. Adhesive is there for a hairline you want sealed in high wind, not for a cap that will not stay.
- Combs in, then the band, then the hairline. Reversing that order fights the fit.
- A grip band sits under the cap. It is not a substitute for a band that was never adjustable.
- Take the wig off to wash it. Shampoo the hair, not the hardware.
Shop glueless wigs when you want that cap.

Wash day for a body wave
A body wave does not need a weekly intervention. It needs cool water, a sulfate-free shampoo, and the patience to detangle before the hair is fully wet.

How to read a lace cap
HD is thinner. Transparent is a little more forgiving on deeper skin if you tint it. Neither one will save a hairline that was plucked down to the mesh.
