Why length labels lie

Why length labels lie

A curly bundle measured stretched is not the length you will see in the mirror. We label resting length for curls and stretched length for straight and body wave, and we say which is which.

Stretch a curly weft and you are measuring the hair after you have undone the curl. The moment it dries, it climbs back up. A 20-inch curly bundle that was sold stretched can sit at the shoulder. That is not a short shipment. That is the curl doing what curl does.

How to measure what you bought

Straight and body wave: measure from the weft to the ends, the hair smoothed, not pulled until it hurts. Curly and kinky: measure in the resting state, after a wash, once the curl has settled. If a straight bundle is short of the label by more than half an inch, write to us.

  • Wet curly hair shrinks, then relaxes as it dries. Judge it dry.
  • A layered cut takes length off the face even when the back is the labelled length.
  • Double drawn means the ends are as full as the top. It does not mean the hair is longer.

Shop curly hair, and measure a curly piece in its resting length.
